FERRIEL C. HAMBY, Jr.

Ferriel C. Hamby, Jr. is a managing partner in Adams & Graham, L.L.P. He practices primarily in the areas of:

    • Medical Malpractice
    • Healthcare Law
    • Nursing Home Law
    • Hospital Law

Mr. Hamby's practice has included banking, condemnation, product liability, worker's compensation, medical malpractice and legal malpractice. The focus of his practice in more recent years has been health care law and legal malpractice.

Mr. Hamby currently serves as counsel for Brownsville Medical Center, Valley Baptist Medical Center, McAllen Medical Center and Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He represents physicians in litigation throughout South Texas. He has participated in hospital seminars around the state covering health care related issues.

Mr. Hamby is admitted to practice before all State Courts in Texas, the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Texas, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

He is a member of the Cameron County and American Bar Associations, Texas Association of Defense Attorneys, Defense Research Institute, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys and is a former Cameron County Bar President and past member of the Texas Pattern Jury Charge Committee for the State Bar of Texas.

Prior to joining Adams & Graham, L.L.P., Mr. Hamby was in the United States Army where he served as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps, serving as a defense lawyer and providing legal assistance before advancing to the position of Chief of Military Justice and the primary prosecutor until his discharge in February 1973.

Mr. Hamby attended Sam Houston University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in business administration in 1965. He then attended South Texas College of Law and received a J.D. degree in 1968.
