The Law Office of Adams & Graham, L.L.P., was founded in 1958 by John Q. Adams and Marshall Graham. Over the past five decades, the firm has evolved into a full-service practice. MEMBERS OF THE FIRM
Mr. Lockhart is a 1974 graduate of Texas Tech Law School. He joined Adams & Graham, L.L.P. in 1979 after four years of litigation practice with Gibson, Ochsner firm in Amarillo, Texas. He is admitted to practice before all the Texas State Courts, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Texas.
Tom A. Lockhart's litigation practice focuses upon defense of professionals and insurance companies and death and serious personal injury claims arising out of product, vehicle, construction, environmental, civil rights and other types of incidents.
Mr. Lockhart is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
Mr. Hughes joined the firm in December 1981. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in May, 1977. He served as a captain in the Army, JAGC from 1977-1981. Mr. Hughes exclusively does appellate and trial work in a variety of cases, including products liability, professional malpractice, insurance coverage, construction and civil rights.
Mr. Hughes is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate Law and has handled over 100 cases in various appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court. He is a member of the Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee, and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He also chairs TADC’s amicus curiae committee. He served as the Cameron County Bar Association President for 2007-2008. He has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly magazine

Mr. Vittitoe obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law and has been licensed to practice law since 1978. After graduating from law school, Mr. Vittitoe served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. He was in solo practice for three years and joined Adams & Graham, L.L.P. in 1986. Mr. Vittitoe, a south Texas native, engages in the defense of complex and multiparty civil litigation.
Mr. Vittitoe is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Law. He has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly magazine.

Judge Pope joined the firm in 1986. He attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center and received his law degree from Baylor University. His areas of practice include general civil litigation, commercial, transactional, healthcare, transportation, employment and tax law. He is a member of the American College of Legal Medicine and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.
Judge Pope is qualified as a general civil and family law mediator.
He has served over thirty years as a municipal court judge and state magistrate in multiple jurisdictions. Judge Pope was honored with a resolution by the Texas House of Representatives in 2005 for his many years of service to the Texas judiciary.

Mr. Ray joined the firm after he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1991. Mr. Ray is a member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and the Cameron County Bar Association. He is a former Director and Officer for the Cameron County Bar Association. Mr. Ray is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. His primary practice areas include personal injury defense, municipality defense and healthcare law.
Mr. Hughes received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1990, where he was a member of the South Texas Law Review and Order of the Lytae. He worked as a briefing attorney for Justice James A. Baker, 5th District Court of Appeals at Dallas. Mr. Hughes joined the firm in 1992 and is licensed to practice before all Texas State Courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He represents health care industry clients in litigation, non-litigation, and compliance matters. His practice areas involve health law, professional liability and litigation. He is a member of the TBLS Health Law Advisory Commission, DRI, AHLA, ABA and Texas Bar Litigation and Health Law sections and is a former TBLS Health Law Exam Commission member and Chair. He is a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow, and Mr. Hughes serves as a member of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission's Texas Medical Disclosure Panel (TMDP) established by § 74.102 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.

Mr. Clark received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas Law School in 1996. He began his legal career with the Texas 13th Court of Appeals, rising to the position of Deputy Chief Staff Attorney before leaving to join Adams & Graham, L.L.P. in December 2000. He handles a varied docket of trial and appellate cases in areas such as personal injury, insurance disputes, products liability and professional liability. He currently serves as co-chair of the Appellate Section of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and is a former Board Member of the Cameron County Bar Association.
Americo joined the firm after he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2018. Americo is a member of the Cameron County Bar Association, Hidalgo County Bar Association and the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association. His areas of practice include personal injury and healthcare law. Americo is a certified general civil and family law mediator.
